About Stan Truskie, Ph.D.

Stan Truskie, Ph.D. is the CEO of CEO Roundtable Pittsburgh. He is an international executive coach, organizational leadership professor, author, speaker, and board advisor. His career spans over 25 years of experience coaching executives and advising boards on leadership/organizational performance and governance issues. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in executive development, strategic/business planning, succession planning, business development, and company culture formation. Dr. Truskie has the unique experience of advising public, private, and nonprofit organizations, as well as family-owned-and-operated businesses.

Stan Truskie, Ph.D.

Currently, Dr. Truskie operates a private consulting firm, MSD Leadership Consultants, Inc., which he founded in 2002. He has offered advice to over 50 companies ranging from small family-owned private businesses to Fortune 500 corporations. Additionally, he has advised enterprises of various sizes at different stages of growth from start-up to turn-around situations, all while contributing to their improved business performance, increased revenues, and outstanding bottom-line results. Dr. Truskie has also coached over 300 senior-level executives, many of whom have advanced to top leadership positions in their respective companies.

In addition to his consulting activities, Dr. Truskie has served as an organizational leadership professor at two leading universities. He was responsible for teaching graduate-level courses on effective leadership, strategic planning, and organizational change. He has also designed and conducted over 200 leadership seminars through his firm and has taught executive leadership courses for the American Management Association. Dr. Truskie is the author of the best-seller, "Leadership in High Performance Organizational Cultures, 2nd Edition."

Dr. Truskie has been featured in newspapers and national publications, including the Wall Street Journal. He has also served on the Blue-Ribbon Commission on CEO Succession Planning sponsored by the National Association of Corporate Directors. He is known for his original studies in management and executive behavior. His work, "The President/CEO Study," describes attributes of top executives from over 200 major U.S. corporations and has been widely used and referenced as a guide to CEO selection. Another major study he conducted, "CEO Performance Evaluation," is currently used by many boards of directors as a reference for designing and implementing a CEO performance evaluation process.

Dr. Truskie received his master's degree and Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership from the University of Pittsburgh. He has served as a member of several professional groups, including the Academy of Management, the Society for Leadership of Change, and the National Association for Corporate Directors. He serves on the Marketing Advisory Board of Business Week and is listed in various "who's who" directories, including the International Directory of Business and Management Scholars and Researchers published by the Harvard Business School Press. His past affiliations have been with Penn State University, Robert Morris University, Nova Southeastern University, and the American Management Association.
